Ottasolo edge Almar FC in 5-goal thriller Ottasolo FC returned to winning ways against Alamar FC on Saturday after the draw in their last game. The Solo Boys rallied back twice to beat Almar FC at Ikenne courtesy of goals from Arowosegbe Taiwo, Lawal Sodiq, Ejukah. Arowosegbe had opened score 9 minutes into the encounter, but Ashade Nicolas equalised for the hosts 7 minutes later. Maika Oghenkanu gave Almar the lead on 46 minute, but 2 quick goals from Lawal and Ejukah in 2 minutes sealed the win.

Q Tradesafe FC Opt Out NNL Lagos based NNL club, Tradesafe FC have pulled out of the ongoing Nigeria National League season due to unforeseen challenges beyond its control. 1 of unfortunate setbacks and hurdles, crippled the team's ability to further her participation in the ongoing nation second tier league. It was also stated that the decision to opt out of the league weighed heavily on the hearts of everyone involved, as dreams of glory were dashed in the face of adversity. Tradesafe are rock bottom of the Southern Conference B log with 13 oints from 17 games played and with three more games left to end the regular season, the tea looked set for life in the NLO before making the sudden announcement.

Ottasolo continue fine start to season Ottasolo FC of Lagos continued their excellent start to the 2024 Nation-wide League One, NLO season after a 1-0 win over VOE FC at the Remo Stars Centre, Ogun State on Monday. Egbedeyi Hammed strike in the first half was all Ottasolo needed to earn maximum points and record consecutive wins. Following a 2-1 win in their first match on Saturday, Ottasolo maintained efficiency to earn a hard fought win in Ikenne. Hammed found the back of the net a minute after the half hour mark to give Ottasolo the edge in the first 45th minutes of play. The goal came after Egbedeyi Ahmed with a good run down the left, cut inside and hit a shot that beat VOE goalkeeper. In the second phase of the game, the two sides threw everything each other with Ottasolo boys remaining solid at the back to hold on to the lead and win at regulation time. Aruna returns to top 20 in latest ITTF Ranking.

Quadri Aruna made a quick return to the top 20 in the latest ITTF Ranking released on Tuesday, April 16, by the world table tennis ruling body. In the rating list made public by ITTF, the Nigerian gained three steps up the ranking to occupy 19th spot in the ranking. In the last two rankings, Aruna slid to 22 after missing the World Team Championships in Korea as well as the WTT Champions in Incheon but he has fought his way back to the elite rank of the rating. African Games champion, Omar Assar of Egypt also gained one step up the rating to be ranked 16 in the world. Meanwhile, Aruna started his campaign at the ITTF World Cups Macao 2024, on a good note with a 4-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6) convincing win over Puerto Rico’s Daniel Gonzalez to set the final group 15 tie against Portugal’s Marcos Freitas on Wednesday, April 17 at the Galaxy Arena. Gateway United Banished To Benin Over Security  The Nigeria National League (NNL) has ordered Gateway United Football Club of Abeokuta to move to Benin, Edo State for the rest of the season for violating the league’s security rules. With the decision, Gateway would now host both Crown FC and Osun United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. It would be noted that supporters of the Abeokuta side had after their game against Ikorodu City on Saturday (April 13) gone haywire attacking the centre referee after the game ended goalless.  The offense of the referee probably  being that he did not ‘manufacture’ a penalty for them with his whistle during the match. Apart from being banished to  Benin, Gateway United were also fined N1m by the NNL, even as they are to pay N100,000 for the medical treatment of the battered referees. Quadri Aruna decries selective justice by World Table Tennis.  Africa's number one Table Tennis player, Quadri Aruna has expressed his displeasure over the injustice meted out to him by the World Table Tennis, (WTT) for missing two major tournaments. The African Games' silver medallist revealed that his crime is being an African who has maintained Top 20 in the World. Aruna in a post on his social media page quoted as saying “Two ranking penalties in two consecutive months plus monetary penalty” said such injustice will not be acceptable. The Commonwealth Silver medallist said, “My first sin is because I was sick with chronic diarrhoea. I was not able to participate in the World Championships in Korea and I could not get a doctor's report on time while on sick bed.  "My appeal was rejected because I am black,  from Nigeria and Africa. “My second sin is because I decided to represent my club that is paying me a salary: I could not participate in the WTT CHAM
