The President of Ottasolo FC Lagos, Otunba Gabriel Davies have joined football enthusiasts across the world to congratulate Enugu Rangers for clinching the 2023/2024 NPFL Title. Rangers won the league title with a game at hand following their 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance in the NPFL Matchday 37 at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu. Lagos Peace Cup: Teams Warned To Play By The Rules

Organisers of the forthcoming Lagos Peace football competition have read a riot act to participating teams to abide by the rules and shun soccer violence that may tarnish the image of the aside tournament which begins on Sunday at the Akinola football pitch, Aboru, Alimosho. This was disclosed by match cordinator, Gift Anderson at the draw ceremony of Peace Cup held recently in Lagos. Addressing the participants, Anderson emphasized the importance of adherence to competition rules and warned any team found misbehaving would face serious consequences. Anderson also highlighted the tournament’s plan to invite football scouts, NPFL, and NNL coaches to come around for scouting during the competition. Four matches would be played on Sunday as Crown Stars face Wameerah FC by 10am. Destiny tackle Go Xscober FC by 12noon, while Club Athletico confront Excel by 2pm as Sizoko tackle Junior Milan by 4pm. Finidi George has explained why he decided to step down as the head coach of the Super Eagles.  The 53-year-old turned in his resignation to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Saturday.  This comes days after the NFF issued a statement revealing they are planning to bring in a foreign technical adviser to work alongside Finidi.  In a video posted on social media hours later, a former media officer of the Eagles, Colin Udoh, confirmed he had spoken to Finidi after his decision.  “Finidi confirmed to me that he resigned his position indeed,” Udoh said.  “The reason being that he met with the NFF on Thursday and they had a very good conversation.  They spoke about the things they need to do going forward and he (Finidi) asked if he will be back.  “At no point during that meeting did anyone tell him they were going to appoint a foreign technical adviser.  “The NFF board had met on Wednesday and made that decision.
