Akinkunmi Amoo: Former Golden Eaglets star jailed on sexual assault charge, set to appeal case

Former Nigeria U-17 Golden Eaglets player, Akinkunmi Amoo will serve one year jail term in Denmark, he will then be deported after and be banned from entry Denmark for six years after being found guilty on bothering on sexual assault. The 22 year-old wing player appeared in the court on alleged sexual assault and other two unspecified count charges. The criminal charges against Amoo were laid by Danish authorities in April, July and August 2022. Meanwhile, it was understood that Akinkunmi Amoo will be appealing for the case assaults on him. The 22 years old young sensational Amoo signed a five-year contract with F.C. Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga on January 31, 2021.     Organizers Fix Date For Peace Cup 2023 In Lagos Organizers of the third edition of Peace Cup have fixed 2, July for the opening match of the tournament. Addressing the Journalists in Lagos, President and Chairman of the organizing committee, Dr Kolade Kolapo said the tourney will witness 16 teams battling for trophy as well as cash prize and urged the participants to abide by the rules and regulations. The Super Eagles have arrived Liberia’s capital, Monrovia for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Sierra Leone. The aircraft conveying the contingent of 23 players, technical and administrative staff and a few other officials led by President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, landed at the Roberts International Airport at 11.08am local time (12.08pm in Nigeria), and was received by the Ambassador of Nigeria to Liberia, His Excellency Godfrey A. E. Odudigbo, the Head of Chancery, Ms Stella Ahumibe and a few other mission staff. Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Chairmen met with the leadership of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) on Monday in Lagos to ratify the outcome of the 2022/23 season which will pave the way for the names of the three top clubs to be forwarded to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The three clubs in order of placement are Enyimba International, Remo Stars and Rivers United are to represent Nigeria in the CAF Club competitions starting in August. While Enyimba and Remo Stars are to play in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United will be joined by the winner of the Federation Cup to represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup. NPFL Super 6 Draw Holds On Friday

The 2022–23 Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six playoff draw will hold tomorrow in Lagos with N100M up for grabs as prize money for the winners. The draw would mark the official commencement of the season-ending competition with all the games live on Supersport channel of DSTV Nigeria. Six clubs will compete in the competition that will determine the winner of the season Holders Rivers United, eight-time champions, Enyimba, Remo Stars, Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars are the participating teams. The winner and the second-place team will compete in the CAF Champions League next season while the third-placed club goes to the CAF Confederation Cup.
