Ottasolo FC President Thumbs up Zubair's Appointment as Flying Eagles Coach. Ottasolo FC President, Otunba Gabriel Davies, has praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for appointing Ali Zubair as the new head coach of the Flying Eagles, Nigeria's U20 team. Speaking to pressmen at his Lagos residence, Otunba Davies said,  "The NFF has made an excellent choice in appointing Coach Ali Zubair, considering his impressive track record and achievements last season. He truly deserves this opportunity." The soft-spoken chairman commended Zubair's accomplishments, stating,  "He has done a fantastic job with El-Kanemi Warriors, earning promotion to the NPFL and securing a continental ticket by winning the FA Cup against Abia Warriors in Lagos. His brand of football is very attractive, and I believe he will excel with the Flying Eagles." AFCON 2025 NFF waits on Eguavoen to release Super Eagles list By Mike Edward The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is waiting on the hanger for interim Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen to release the list of invited players for the AFCON 2025 qualifier match against Benin Republic in Uyo in September 7, before traveling to Rwanda three days later for their second game in the group which has Libya as the 4th team. Eguavoen has been drafted to the team until the NFF is able to employ a substantive coach for Super Eagles. The Eagles will need a good start after his disappointing first two games of their World Cup qualifiers saw them drop to 5th in the 6th team group. The Eagles also need to bounce back from the defeat they suffered in the last International break, where they were beaten 2-1 by Benin, the same team they will open their campaign. ValueJet Cup: Shooting Stars Beaten by Al-Merrikh Defending champions, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) got their campaign off on a shaly note in the 2024 ValueJet Cup pre season Tournament, no thanks to a lone goal loss to debutant Al-Merrikh of Sudan. In the Group A match decided Wednesday afternoon at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, the Ibadan soccer lords were undone by Mutaz AlHashim's 77th minute strike, despite creating numerous scoring chances, particularly in the first half. Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote paraded a mixture of old and new players as the team continues to prepare for the 2024/25 season. The Oluyole Warriors will be back on duty on Friday afternoon, with a crunchy fixture against Remo Stars, who took the place of Beyond Limit after the latter withdrew from the tournament. Ifeanyi Ogba, Anthony Anioke Seal Kwara United Deal By Ibitoye Shittu  Petite forward Ifeanyi 'Aguero' Ogba and strong defender Anthony Anioke have both agreed personal terms to join Kwara United ahead of the coming NPFL season. Ogba will be joining the Harmony Boys with big credentials in his pocket having won the NPFL title with Enugu Rangers at the outgone season. The Under-23 Olympic Team player is one of the no nonsense forwards in the Nigerian topflight. He is expected to bolster Kabiru Dogo's striking department for the coming season.  Anthony Anioke on the other is one of the most solid defenders in the NPFL and he will be replacing Isaiah Ejeh who has left the club. Anioke, former Under-23 player, makes the move to Ilorin from Akwa United.  These two players are expected to be unveiled this week at Kwara United Secretariat as the club's management and coaching crew entered top gear in recruiting and parading the best legs for the coming NPFL term.
