OTTASOLO INVITATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOOTBALL CUP:


BRIEF:
This football competition is for Government-owned secondary schools in Lagos State. The expected 32 teams to participate in the championship are expected to be drawn from each of the 20 local government areas in the state. 


IMPORTANCE:
The competition is aimed at boosting the growth and development of grassroots football in the state. While the competition is not aimed at competing with the schools/ grassroots programmes of Lagos State Football Association. 


ESSENCE:
Essentially, we understand the importance of creating a smooth synergy between sports and education. School students needs sporting platforms to display their innate talents, as such competitions, as the OTTASOLO INVITATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOOTBALL CUP, would help them get the necessary attention and of course, eventually assist them to build and develop a career in football.

The competition is proudly sponsored by GABRIEL DAVIES GLOBAL FOUNDATION, is a non-governmental, non-political and non-religious organisation. And with the aims and objectives to help engender a better and equitable society. Making impactful contributions to individuals, organisations and the larger society. 


COMPETITION:
It is going to be played all-through on a straight knockout basis. With the eventual winners,( Ist, 2nd and 3rd) receiving mouth-watering and eye-catching prizes,  that are unprecedented in schools/ grassroots football competitions in Lagos State.

Ottasolo continue fine start to season Ottasolo FC of Lagos continued their excellent start to the 2024 Nation-wide League One, NLO season after a 1-0 win over VOE FC at the Remo Stars Centre, Ogun State on Monday. Egbedeyi Hammed strike in the first half was all Ottasolo needed to earn maximum points and record consecutive wins. Following a 2-1 win in their first match on Saturday, Ottasolo maintained efficiency to earn a hard fought win in Ikenne. Hammed found the back of the net a minute after the half hour mark to give Ottasolo the edge in the first 45th minutes of play. The goal came after Egbedeyi Ahmed with a good run down the left, cut inside and hit a shot that beat VOE goalkeeper. Aruna returns to top 20 in latest ITTF Ranking.

Quadri Aruna made a quick return to the top 20 in the latest ITTF Ranking released on Tuesday, April 16, by the world table tennis ruling body. In the rating list made public by ITTF, the Nigerian gained three steps up the ranking to occupy 19th spot in the ranking. In the last two rankings, Aruna slid to 22 after missing the World Team Championships in Korea as well as the WTT Champions in Incheon but he has fought his way back to the elite rank of the rating. African Games champion, Omar Assar of Egypt also gained one step up the rating to be ranked 16 in the world. Meanwhile, Aruna started his campaign at the ITTF World Cups Macao 2024, on a good note with a 4-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6) convincing win over Puerto Rico’s Daniel Gonzalez to set the final group 15 tie against Portugal’s Marcos Freitas on Wednesday, April 17 at the Galaxy Arena. The team had it's first training at a small pitch in Oyebande Street Suberu-Town Casso-Alagbado, the zeal and commitment of the team made them won their first trophy which was the Valentine cup in February 14, 1985.This inaugural edition is to be held on the 31st December 2023 by 4pm at the Football field, Adura bus stop, Alagbado Lagos.
