ORILE ALAGBADO DAY: OBA ADESHOGA WILLIAMS ADEYOOLA PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR YOUTHS THROUGH SPORTS.

“I Am a Youth, I Belong to the Youths, and I Am for the Youths” — TOMIA I

His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeshoga Williams Adeyoola (TOMIA I), has expressed his happiness and appreciation for the people of Alagbado as preparations gather momentum for the forthcoming Orile Alagbado Day celebration.

The traditional ruler made this known during an exclusive interview with Spectacular9ja Media at the Adura Football Field, on the sidelines of the first edition of the ongoing football tournament organised as part of activities leading up to the celebration.

Speaking passionately about his commitment to youth development, the monarch declared:

“I am a youth, I belong to the youths, and I am for the youths.”

Oba Adeyoola explained that giving back to society remains one of his major priorities, adding that sports provide an effective platform for bringing young people together, promoting unity, and encouraging peaceful coexistence.

According to the monarch, the initiative is designed to foster love, togetherness, and mutual understanding among youths while inspiring them to become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to their families, communities, and the nation at large.

He further emphasised that engaging young people through football would help promote positive values and encourage them to channel their energy towards productive activities rather than social vices.

In a major promise to the people of Alagbado, the traditional ruler assured residents that the Adura Football Field would receive significant attention and improvement.

He pledged that by this time next year, the facility would be transformed into a better and more attractive playing ground for football lovers and the wider Alagbado community.

Oba Adeyoola described the ongoing tournament as the beginning of a lasting initiative, noting that this is the first football tournament being organised under his initiative and expressing his determination to sustain it, by God’s grace.

He expressed optimism that the competition would continue to provide opportunities for young footballers, strengthen community relationships, and contribute to grassroots sports development in Alagbado.

The monarch’s commitment to youth empowerment, community development, and sports promotion underscores the importance of traditional institutions in supporting initiatives that create opportunities for young people and promote unity at the grassroots level.

As the people of Alagbado look forward to the forthcoming Orile Alagbado Day celebration, the football tournament stands out as a significant platform for bringing the community together through the unifying power of sports.
