SGFC Athletics President Congratulate Hajji Gafar On His Emergence As Lagos FA Vice Chairman

President of SGFC Athletics Sports Club and CEO Txpoint Consulting LLC, USA, Richard Opanuga has congratulated the Chairman of 36 Lion FC Olawale Liameed Gafar on his victory after being elected the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association.

In the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) elective congress held on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan Lagos, Hajji Gafar pulled a total of 10 votes to beat his challenger Dotun Coker who pulled just 4 votes.

The Business man In his congratulatory message on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, said; “My Friend, My Brother, I congratulate you on your victory today, and also thank the good people of Lagos State for their foresight in electing you into the board of the Lagos State Football Association.

“Truly, your victory is an exemplary demonstration of capacity and dedication, a bold and emphatic testimony, of your hardwork, commitment and passion towards youth empowerment and development in the country.

“I have no doubt in your abilities and your hunger for success, and I want to urge Lagosian to give you the needed support as you alongside your crew paddle the affairs of football in the state. Congratulations once again my Brother, cheers.

Aruna returns to top 20 in latest ITTF Ranking.

Quadri Aruna made a quick return to the top 20 in the latest ITTF Ranking released on Tuesday, April 16, by the world table tennis ruling body. In the rating list made public by ITTF, the Nigerian gained three steps up the ranking to occupy 19th spot in the ranking. In the last two rankings, Aruna slid to 22 after missing the World Team Championships in Korea as well as the WTT Champions in Incheon but he has fought his way back to the elite rank of the rating. African Games champion, Omar Assar of Egypt also gained one step up the rating to be ranked 16 in the world. Meanwhile, Aruna started his campaign at the ITTF World Cups Macao 2024, on a good note with a 4-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6) convincing win over Puerto Rico’s Daniel Gonzalez to set the final group 15 tie against Portugal’s Marcos Freitas on Wednesday, April 17 at the Galaxy Arena. The team had it's first training at a small pitch in Oyebande Street Suberu-Town Casso-Alagbado, the zeal and commitment of the team made them won their first trophy which was the Valentine cup in February 14, 1985.This inaugural edition is to be held on the 31st December 2023 by 4pm at the Football field, Adura bus stop, Alagbado Lagos.
