Enyimba No. 1 Shot Stopper, John Noble Joins Tanzanian Premier League New Boys

Captain and goalkeeper of Enyimba FC of Aba, John Noble is the latest player to join clubs in East Africa, in search of proverbial greener pastures.

Noble joined newly promoted Tanzanian Premier League side, Tabora United (formerly known as Kitayosce) ahead of the 2023/24 season, which kicks of in August.
The out-of-favour Super Eagles goalkeeper signed a one-year deal which could be renewed for another 12 months, subject to the keeper's performances, in between the sticks all through the season.

Last season, Tabora United played in Tanzania's second tier league, otherwise called the Championship, or "Ligi Daraja la Kwanza" in Swahili); and was one of the two teams automatically promoted to the nation's top flight.
Vijana Tabora FC is from Dar es Salaam, Ilala District, and the Tanzanian Premier League which is otherwise called (Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara in Swahili) was a 20 team championship, but was lowered to 18 in 2020 and to 16 in 2021.
Currently, it has Young Africans as Champions, and is governed by the Tanzania Football Federation.

John Noble was one of the Super Eagles keepers at the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Cameroon in early 2021, but has been largely overlooked thereafter after publicly complaining that he was the only member of the team that was yet to be paid his bonuses after the tournament.
