NPFL 24: Akwa United Bigger Than Hiding Match Balls - Finidi George Blasts

Head Coach of Enyimba FC, Finidi George has lashed out at Akwa United for allegedly using negative tactics to run down the clock by hiding the match balls in Enyimba's 3-1 loss to Akwa United, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In his post-match thoughts, the Enyimba gaffer bemoaned the Promise Keepers for hiding away balls rather than keeping them to return for play when the one in use went out.

He noted that there are ways to delay time in a game by keeping ball possession adding that at Enyimba, such uncultured practice is not attainable.

His words: "We didn't enter the game properly. We were a bit sluggish. A team playing at home, you give them that opportunity to score they will rise. From that point, we struggled to keep the ball, to push and the get that second goal. We tried coming back after that penalty and you push all players to see how you can equalise a counter-attack and they got their third goal. "

I think they deserve to win. You must give them that credit but what I didn't like is when you were winning, all the balls disappeared. Akwa is bigger than that. We don't do that in Enyimba. That is not the best for a team like Akwa United. They should be better than that. Let the ball boys do their job. All of a sudden, we were using one ball.

"I must commend them for the victory but they have to be better than that. I can't hide my feelings. That is what I saw and they have to be better than that. If it is done to them, I think they will not be happy. Even if you want to waste time, there are ways to delay. You can keep the ball possession and waste time with it but not all of a sudden all of the ball boys disappeared and we were looking for ball boys."
