NPFL 24: Referee Was Threatened, Gave Enyimba Unjust 3 Red, 9 Yellow Cards Against Kwara United - Assistant Coach Cries Out
Olarenwaju, who also red-carded alongside Chigozie Chilekwu and Desmond Ojietefian, said his team is always disciplined and that the red card was the first in his career as a coach.
"The first half was good, he opened the game but in the second half, I think he was threatened. You could see that everybody was all over him. He came in the second half and messed up everything. We got nine yellow cards and three red cards.
"I only asked him a question that the last one he blew wasn't a foul. He gave me a yellow card and I said you can't do this. You had a good game in the first half, why did you change and he gave me another yellow card? That is a red card and gave my player another red card for the third red card. This game is gone. We move to the next one.
"We couldn't play, everything was against us. First three minutes he gave three yellow cards to weaken them and shut them up. That's not the best. We have never had a red card this season. Enyimba is a disciplined team. All my career, I have never had a card as a coach. The referee was too aggressive for us. Why do you hand over 9 yellow cards and give Kwara United one or two."
