Kukushaw FC Set for One of Nigeria’s Toughest Pre-Season Tournaments

The Gold Cup has adopted a new league-phase format for its landmark 2026 edition, setting the stage for what promises to be one of the most competitive and exciting pre-season football tournaments in Nigeria.

Among the teams preparing to participate is Kukushaw FC, who are coming into the competition with plenty of confidence following their recent success at the Choco Cup in Meiran Estate, Alagbado, Lagos.

Kukushaw FC have also secured their place in the final of the highly rated Peace Cup Football Tournament, where they will face Akinola Sunday Set in what is expected to be another thrilling grassroots football showdown.

With the Gold Cup expected to feature strong opposition, Kukushaw FC will be looking to use the tournament as an opportunity to test their squad against some of the best teams around and prepare for the challenges ahead.

Speaking to our correspondent today, Kukushaw FC CEO, Comrade Odulate Dare Ayomide, expressed confidence in the quality and experience within his squad. He insisted that his players are ready to compete at the highest level.

“I have quality and experienced players who can compete against any NPFL side. My boys are capable and they are up to the task.”

The statement reflects the growing ambition within the Kukushaw FC camp, with the club determined to establish itself as one of the leading forces in grassroots football.

With the Gold Cup 2026, the Peace Cup Final, and their recent Choco Cup triumph, Kukushaw FC are enjoying a remarkable period and will be hoping to maintain their momentum as they take on increasingly tougher opposition.
